Cozy Jacksonville Lighting in Your Home

Do you want to achieve a warm, cozy glow in your home but still be able to complete tasks and see what you’re doing? Check out the following tips and examples that can help you get the look you want and the illumination you need with Jacksonville lighting.

In the living room, you will want to use a combination of floor and table lamps, aim some of them downward and some of them upward. The downward-facing lamps will provide a glow that is necessary for reading or other tasks, while the upward-facing light will play up the features of the room.

For the dining room, be sure to make the table the brightest spot in the room in order to draw people in. Consider using a chandelier or a pendant above the table. Throughout the rest of the room, it’s best to use indirect lighting. Small table lamps on a sideboard or wall sconces will be a nice touch.

For kitchen lighting, an overhead light works best. You might want to look into a dimming light so that you can lower the brightness at times but have it turned up while cooking or baking.

The bedroom is best lit with reading lamps, sconces. Recessed or track lighting is not out of the question – but be sure to aim them away from the bed. Overhead fixtures can also be used if desired.

Bathroom lighting is perhaps one of the single most important to consider. Makeup is best applied by use of sidelights, like sconces that are placed around the mirror. An overhead light will work to fully illuminate the room while cleaning. And you can never go wrong with a light over the shower.
